LEAF PROGRAM
New Britain provides its residents assistance with the disposal of their leaves each fall and spring with their Leaf Bag program. This program involves the City distributing nearly 150,000 leaf bags to City residents, which are dropped off at their homes (20 leaf bags per property), and then provides curbside pick-up of the full leaf bags. Leaf bags are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
Again in 2008/2009, the City will conduct a limited curbside vacuum leaf pickup program and offer a volunteer based raking, bagging and curbside loose-leaf collection program for senior citizens and disabled people.
