Piano and Voice Lessons Mayor Timothy T. Stewart and Parks and Recreation Commission Chairman Richard Lorch, and Vice-Chairman Paul Shaker announced today that the New Britain Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the fall, winter, and spring sessions for Piano and Voice Lessons. Lessons are held in City Hall Room 210. Enrollment is limited. Fee of $100 per person, per session must accompany registration. Each session consists of 8 half hour lessons, same time every week. Students should have daily access to a real piano for the entire session or a keyboard is sufficient for beginning students if it has at least 61 full size touch sensitive keys. All of the lessons are private. Piano and Voice Lessons are held Monday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm; and Fridays from 4:00 pm to 5:00pm. Lessons begin every half hour. Session I runs from October 14th to December 19th. Session II runs from January 8th to March 16th. Session III runs from March 17th to May 22nd. The Final Recital will be held May 28, 2009 at 7 pm at First Lutheran Church followed by a social gathering. Please note that only one cancellation per session will be scheduled and it must be called in to the Recreation office by 12 pm on the day of the lesson. The New Britain Parks and Recreation Department accepts registrations on a first-come, first-served basis. Application forms are available and registrations are accepted 8:30 a.m. -3:45 p.m., Monday-Friday in the Recreation Office located in Room 302 in City Hall, 27 West Main Street.
