Mayor Stewart Launches New Internet Service On City Website July 18, 2005 New Britain Mayor Timothy Stewart today announced the launching of a new internet service for residents wishing to report problems, ask questions of city departments or gain specific information regarding services from various departments. "I am very pleased to announce that, as of today, New Britain residents will be able to access our new help service called City Hall Express," Mayor Stewart said today. "By logging onto the New Britain City website, residents will be able to click onto the City Hall Express button which will take them to a whole new way of dealing with city government," Stewart continued. "There will be a number of frequently asked questions with easy to understand answers that may resolve many of the issues people may have. "Additionally, they will be able to direct specific questions to specific departments and they will receive a quick response from someone within that department through a follow-up email. In essence, we have created a whole new 21st century way for New Britain residents to interact with city departments. Residents who, in the past, have had problems communicating with various city departments will now have an innovative way to resolve their issues." Concluding Mayor Stewart said, "City Hall Express represents an innovative and dynamic way for all city residents to communicate with their local government. I urge everyone to take the opportunity to log onto the City's website and check out the Express. I believe they will be pleasantly surprised with how easy it will be for them to resolve issues that they have with the City." Residents wishing to use the new service can log onto the City website at www.new-britain.net. Then click on the box entitled City Hall Express. They will then be able to make a request or seek answers to frequently asked questions about New Britain city government. Once the request has been made, they click "submit" and they will receive an email response in a timely fashion.
